Machining is a process of changing the size and performance of the workpiece by means of processing machinery. According to the temperature state of the workpiece being processed, it can be divided into cold working and hot working. It is usually processed at room temperature and does not cause chemical or material changes in the workpiece, which is called cold processing. Generally, processing at or below normal temperature causes the chemical or material phase change of workpiece, which is called hot working. The difference between cold working and machining methods can be divided into cutting and press processing. Hot working is often heat treated, calcined, cast and welded. In addition, cold and heat treatment is often used in assembly. For example, when the bearing is assembled, the inner ring is often cooled in liquid nitrogen to shrink its size, and the outer ring is properly heated to enlarge its size and then be assembled together. The outer rim of the wheel of a train is also covered with a heating method on the base, and its stability can be guaranteed when cooled.

Mechanical processing includes: filament power winding, laser cutting, heavy processing, metal bonding, metal drawing, plasma cutting, precision welding, roll forming, sheet metal bending, die forging, water jet cutting, precision welding and so on. Mechanical processing: a wide range of mechanical processing is the process that can be made by mechanical means; narrow is the process of making parts with special machinery, such as lathe, milling machine, drilling machine, grinder, press machine, die casting machine and so on.
