High-speed milling machine requirements

Ultra-high-speed cutting technology is the direction of the development of cutting, but also the product of the development of the times. High-speed cutting technology is one of the major development directions of cutting technology. It has taken a higher level with the development of basic technologies such as CNC technology, microelectronic technology, new materials and new structures. However, the high-speed cutting technology itself also has some problems that need to be solved, such as the cutting mechanism of high-hardness materials, the damage of the tool during the load change process, the establishment of a high-speed cutting database, the development of monitoring techniques suitable for high-speed cutting processing, and green Manufacturing technology, etc. The CNC machine tools, cutting tools and CAD/CAM software used in high-speed cutting have high technical content and high prices, which make the high-speed cutting investment large, which restricts the popularization and application of high-speed cutting technology to some extent. The efficient application of high-speed cutting requires that the components in the machine tool system must be advanced, mainly in the following aspects:

(1) Rigidity of machine tool structure

It is required to provide a high-speed feed actuator (fast forward speed is about 40m/min, 3D contour processing speed is 10m/min) and can provide acceleration and deceleration of 0.4m/s2 to 10m/s2.

(2) Rigidity of spindle and holder

It is required to satisfy the rotational speed of 10000r/min to 50000r/min, and the axial clearance between the tool holder and the main shaft is controlled by the main shaft compressed air or the cooling system to be not more than 0.0002 inch.

(3) Control Unit

Requires a 32- or 64-bit parallel processor with high data transfer rate and automatic acceleration and deceleration.

(4) Reliability and Processing Technology

It can improve the utilization of the machine (6000h/y) and the unmanned reliability. The process model helps to understand the relationship between cutting conditions and tool life.

Table 1 shows the representatives of common high-speed machining centers at home and abroad. Compared with the traditional ordinary CNC machine tools, its machine structure, processing speed and performance are more outstanding, such as Germany's DMC85 high-speed machining center, using a linear motor and electric spindle, the spindle speed reaches 30000r/min, the feed speed reaches 120m/min Acceleration exceeds 1g (gravitational acceleration). High-speed machine tools require high-performance spindle units and cooling systems, high-rigidity machine structures, safety devices, and monitoring systems, as well as excellent static and dynamic characteristics, and are characterized by high technological content and difficulty in machine tool manufacturing. At present, domestic high-speed machine tools have a certain gap between their performance and that of foreign countries.
