Die casting in the production process, will encounter many quality problems, that is, as a common quality defects Die Casting, which is one of the defects is the lack of casting, which led to the cause of die casting caused by the undercast, according to the following analysis:


During the forming process of die castings, some parts are not completely filled, which is called undercasting. When the undercast part is serious, it can be considered as the shape of the casting does not meet the requirements of the drawings. Normally it is not allowed to exist for undercasting.


Causes of undercasting are:

1) Poor filling conditions, irregular condensed metal in the undercast part;

When the pressure is insufficient or insufficient, the active front metal solidifies too early, resulting in undercasting in corners, deep pockets, thin walls (even thinner than the average wall thickness), and columnar hole walls.

Mold temperature is too low;

Alloy pouring temperature is too low;

The location of the ingate is not good, creating a large resistance to activity.

2) Gas obstruction, surface lubrication at undercast parts, but irregular shape

It is difficult to open the overflow system where gas accumulates;

When the molten metal moves, the turbulence is intense and the gas is entrapped.

3) Plastic mold cavity has residue


Inappropriate amount of coating or spraying method causes partial coating deposition.

The molding parts have too large insert gaps, or the sliding cooperation gap is too large. When filling, the metal is poured into the metal. After the castings are released, they cannot be completely taken out and the sheets are caught in the gaps. When the kind of sheet-like metal (metal sheet, the thickness of which is the size of the gap) is convex in the surrounding profile surface, the height of the projection is adapted to the wall thickness of the casting in the case of mold clamping. Future castings will create a groove that penetrates (for the wall thickness). This penetrating groove becomes a special form of undercasting. This undercasting phenomenon occurs in the case of deep cavities formed by inlays.


Insufficient material (including excess material is too thin).

On the vertical die-casting machine, when the shot is shot, the lower punch moves downward to make the nozzle orifice insufficient, resulting in a series of poor filling conditions.
